Miller 3 Engineering is an industrial contractor specializing in the design and fabrication of processing equipment, and supporting manufacturing facilities with equipment installation. Alongside the provided equipment we take care of structural support, ducting, and utility integration.

We are not a general labor provider or a pass-through contractor. We are an execution partner that takes responsibility for how equipment is installed, integrated, and handed over to operations. When a field condition differs from the drawing, we solve it rather than stopping to ask whose fault it is.
Clear definition of installation scope and responsibilities, established in writing before mobilization. Standard operating procedures that control sequencing, safety, and communication. Coordination with facility engineering, maintenance, operations, and OEM representatives as a planned activity rather than a series of phone calls.
Work inside active production environments, around people who did not sign up to be on a construction site. Pre-install risk identification, hot-work control, containment, and clean, organized job sites at the end of every shift.

In 2019, my employer decided to retire and we faced a choice: take over his business or start a new one. We chose to launch our own venture, leveraging the customer base he had built over 30 years and the clients I had brought in. We kept our former employer as a key contact, maintaining the strong relationships he had cultivated.
Our family steel fabrication shop naturally partnered with us and in February 2024, it officially became part of M3E, which has strengthened our capabilities.

We have engineers on staff that design, draft, and stamp these structures and pull permits if necessary.
That capability shapes what we can take on. Stamped structural design, permit packages, fabrication-ready drawings, 3D modeling, process and layout engineering, and automation design including PLC coordination, sensor integration, and safety interlocks.
It also shapes how we build. Design decisions get tested against fabrication reality while they are still drawings, because the person who has to weld it is down the hall.

We are not a labor broker. If what you need is bodies on a job under someone else's direction, we are the wrong company and an expensive one.
We are not the cheapest bid. Engineering, in-house rigging, and self-performed scope cost money on the line item and save money on the schedule. Buyers who only compare the line item should compare a labor-only quote instead.
We do not take small residential work. We mostly operate in the commercial and industrial sphere, and we are open to larger high-end residential. A gate repair or a short run of handrail is better served by a shop closer to you, and we will say so on the phone.
We do not promise coverage we cannot keep. Field work reaches 600 miles. EPC and maintenance reach 300. Those numbers are published because they are real.

The same company from the site walk through punch-list closeout. Engineering, fabrication, rigging, and installation are all performed in house, which means the people who drew it, built it, and set it work for the same company and answer to the same project lead.
Engineering, fabrication, installation, and rigging are in house. Rigging in particular is fully in-house, which is unusual for a shop this size. Specialty trades requiring their own license, such as high-voltage electrical, are coordinated.
Two things. We design as well as build, so the drawings and the steel come from the same company and constructability problems get caught before they become change orders. And we take full ownership of installation scope rather than treating it as labor supplied under someone else's direction. Manufacturers build the equipment. Distributors sell it. Miller 3 Engineering designs and builds its own, installs and integrates theirs, and makes both run.
